Thanks to the work of two of our members, we have discovered there were legislative changes to the CDL (Commercial Drivers Licenses) rules. If the combined gross vehicle weight of a truck and trailer is over 26,000 pounds, the driver must have a CDL.
Even if you have a bus driving CDL you need to take the Combination Vehicle Test and a driving test. If this will affect you, contact your local or county DPS office to get the details and information you will need. One example we were given is that a one ton truck and a 24-foot gooseneck trailer exceeds the limit.
